Meet Crystal Mercedes: Realism & Surrealism Tattoo Artist at Broadway Dept Sacramento

Hello, my name is Crystal♡  
 Im not sure if I’ve ever done an artist introduction so here we go! 
 
I’m a 30 yr old tattoo artist from Sacramento, CA and a full-time mama of one. I’ve been tattooing for a little over 7 yrs now. Art has always been a passion of mine thanks to my mom. I remember her always drawing in sketch books growing up, so when she bought me my first one as a kid I knew creating was going to be a huge part of my life. After a few years of skipping college classes(sorry mom and dad) I eventually I found my way into tattooing at age 24.  
  
My tattoo work heavily reflects on who I am. It is influenced by my Mexican-American heritage; as well as my nerdy interests in: video games, anime/cartoon, fantasy/sci-fi(thank you dad and brother for the influence). I specialize in realism/surrealism in both color and black-and-grey. I especially love meshing pops of color into my black-and-grey work.   
  
I currently work @broadwaydept in Sacramento. I’m a bubbly person with a splash of awkward who loves a good laugh.
